Product Detail: Mavlab Direa Tablets
Direa tablets are for use as an aid in the management of diarrhoea in dogs and cats. They can be used in diarrhoea caused by dietary changes, infectious agents, food poisoining or bacterial overgrowth of the gut. Direa tablets stabilise the pH of the gut, adsorb toxins and helps to maintain and restore the balance of intestinal flora.
In the gut, Direa tablets form a protective gel, to slow and reduce the severity of diarrhoea. Direa tablets are not absorbed through the gut wall, so any toxins bound to them are not absorbed into the pet’s body, but are excreted through the digestive tract. Direa tablets can be used alone or in conjunction with antibiotics and fluid and electrolyte therapy.
Direa tablets may also be used to prevent gastrointestinal disturbances following gastrointestinal surgery or prior to x-rays of the abdomen, to reduce intestinal gases.
